Revolution and Civil War in Russia (11.5) - Read pp. 375-381) and answer: 1) What provoked the March Revolution? (3-5ss/4pts), 2) How were the Bolsheviks able to seize power from the Provisional Government? (3-5ss/4pts), and 3) How did the government and the economy under Lenin differ from “pure” communism? (3-5ss/4pts).

Making the Peace (11.4) - Read pp. 370-374 and answer: 1) What were some of the human, economic, and political costs of the war? (Be sure address each separately) (3-6ss/4pts), 2) How did the goals of the Big Three leaders conflict at the Paris Peace Conference? (3-5ss/4pts), 3) Why were the German delegates surprised when they read the treaty? (3-5ss/4pts), and 4) Why did the League of Nations fail to accomplish Wilson’s dreams? (Be sure to explain what Wilson’s dreams were.) (3-5ss/4pts).
